About this experience
A tour for those that want to enjoy a different perspective in Vienna and find the time to spend an extra afternoon away from crowds.
Our guides Brigitte, Sabine and Walter are living in this neighborhood, so we take you for “our walk around the block”.
We suggest having a snack-lunch at Rochusmarkt (U3 stop) before the walk.
Richard the Lionheart was captured here shortly before Christmas 1192 – which created the opportunity for Robin of Locksley to become Robin Hood.
It was the quarter where tawers and tripe dressers performed their smelly business and where capital punishment by pyre, by quartering or breaking wheel was performed.
F. Hundertwasser, Z. Hadid and G.W. Ferris left their marks on this neighborhood and creative minds like R. Musil, F. Zinnemann, F. West, E. Fuchs and Wittgenstein lived here.
After a day “in the city” the Prater, an alluvial parkland the size of Central Park, makes a nice relaxing contrast – with a view, if you take ride on the one & only Ferris Wheel.
