Detailed itinerary

A green jewel set between the historic districts of Castello and Villanova. A former quarry for the extraction of limestone blocks, the walk in this park allows you to get to know plant species of considerable interest such as a centuries-old olive tree, a splendid carob tree, oaks, essences of the Sardinian flora and in this place you are struck by the abundance of caper bushes that grow along the limestone ridge that borders the park. Each tree and plant tells stories that are part of an ethnological and naturalistic heritage of great experiential impact. In this place you can admire the works of the great Sardinian artist Pinuccio Sciola: the famous sound stones. Sculptures in basalt and limestone that tell of the artist's deep connection with the natural soul of an ancient island.
The “Gardens under the walls” are a wonderful place to learn about the history of the city surrounded by greenery.
