We will pass the little village Lakones lies on the north west coast, about 25km from Corfu town. It is a listed, traditional, picturesque village with a long history, built on the slope of a verdant mountain, offering impressive views of the coves of Palaiokastritsa. Old stone houses of the 18th and 19th centuries on both sides of the narrow main road, cobbled streets, colored shutters and olive grove, compose the scene of the picturesque village.

This spot, on the rock summit above the Pelekas village, is still known today as "Kaisers Throne", and from where you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the island spread out below.

The location of Kanoni with the church of Panagia Vlacherna below and the Mouse Island (Pontikonissi) are the most famous and photographed spots of Corfu. Kanoni is actually a quarter of Corfu Town, just a couple of km from the city center. It took its name from an old cannon that stands on top of the hill.
