About this experience

We are a small Family business with attention to quality and detail and have been doing Andorra tours for 12 years - kindly see our 180+ TripAdvisor reviews on our Tripadvisor page.

Your team of two experienced and friendly tour guides pick you up early at your hotel or apartment in Barcelona in a clean, comfortable minivan. After a quick breakfast stop in the Pre-Pyrenees mountains, we cross the border into France and on to the tiny country of Andorra high in the Pyrenees mountain range.

We will spend 5 hours in Andorra's biggest ski area Grandvalira to experience snow and exciting snow activities. Possible activities are snowmobile excursions, snow shoe treks, dog mushing or snow-tubing (not included in tour price). These activities are generally available from mid December to early April during the snow season weather permitting. Building snowmen and snowball fights are free :-)

There is time for a 30 minute stop at Pas de la Casa for shopping, before heading back to Barcelona.

Detailed itinerary

1

Your 2 person Guide/Driver Team picks you up at your hotel, apartment or at the Moll de Barcelona Cruise Ship Terminal S or N.

2
Stop 2

We pass by the breathtaking UNESCO World Heritage site, Montserrat mountain, where the monastery and Basilica can be seen nestled halfway up the mountain.

3

As we journey into the Pre-Pyrenees mountain range, our route takes us alongside the Baells reservoir. If the reservoir water level is low, you will see remnants of the village and monastery that were abandoned when the reservoir was created.

4

On the way to France and Andorra, we drive through a 5 km (3-mile) tunnel through the magificent Serra de Moixeró mountain range in the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park. We enjoy breakfast either in the Cerdanya valley or by the Baells reservoir.

5

We cross the border into France at Bourg-Madame surrounded by the stunning landscape of the Cerdanya Valley, with the Pre-Pyrenees mountain range on our east side and the Pyrenees mountains on our left.

6

Continuing our journey in France, we drive up our first Pyrenees mountain pass towards the mountain border of France and Andorra. If the pass is closed, there is a tunnel through the mountain that we can take instead.

7

We drive into Andorra from France at the high altitude mountain border station. Traffic permitting, we make a stop to request the unique Andorra tourist passport stamp.

8

We drive through Andorra's oldest and largest ski village Pas de la Casa. Pas de le Casa is well known for its magnificent mountain vistas, ski slopes and the shopping area that is most popular with French day tourists.

9

We drive over the highest mountain pass in the entire Pyrenees Mountain range, to enjoy breathtaking views of the Grandvalira ski area and the scenic landscapes and peaks of the French and Andorran Pyrenees. This stretch of the tour was used as a stage on previous Tour de France and La Vuelta cycle races. If the pass is closed, there is a tunnel through the mountain.

10

We reach our snow activities destination of Grau Roig. Here you will enjoy beautiful views of the mountains, with skiers coming down on both sides, while you decide which of the snow activities you want to try - weather permitting. Usually it is possible to try snowmobiles, snowshoeing, dog mushing - and of course we can build a snowman and have snowball fights. If it is a sunny day, we can stay in this area and have lunch on a restaurant terrace, while enjoying watching skiers skiing down the many pistes and trails.

11

We usually have time for a short visit to Andorra's oldest and largest ski village Pas de la Casa, to look at shops and perhaps find a small souvenir to bring back from our adventures in Andorra.

12

We leave Andorra, crossing the border back into France and start making our way back to Barcelona.

13

We make restroom stops as needed, on the drive back to Barcelona. Our guests can relax with comfortable blankets and cushions and are welcome to nap during the drive back to Barcelona - or as always, the guide team are more than happy to provide additional information about many historic and cultural aspects of the region.
