Start with Old Delhi, Mughal Emperor Shahjahan founded Old Delhi in 1639 which was formerly known as Shahjahanabad. Till the end of the Mughal dynasty, it remained the capital of the Mughals.

Admire the monuments of Old Delhi, such as the Mughal mosque Jama Masjid (The Friday Mosque) which is the congregational mosque of Old Delhi. It was commissioned by the fifth Mughal ruler known as Shah Jahan. Who was a noted patron of Islamic architecture whose most famous work is the Taj Mahal, in Agra. Next visit Raj Ghat which is a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi the father of the nation there is an elementary square platform of black marble, symbolizes the spot where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated followed by his assassination in 1948. A dedicatory ritual takes place each Friday, in his memory.

Stop for photos at India Gate which is an Arc-de-Triomphe-like 140 feet high gateway that was constructed as a War Memorial in memory of the 70,000 soldiers of the British Indian Army who lost their lives during the First World War. An eternal flame burns night and day to commemorate the brave soldiers who lost their lives fighting in the India-Pakistan War of 1971.

Drive around for photos at The Parliament House was designed by British architect Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker. Humayun's tomb which is a world heritage site & final resting place of the second Mughal Emperor Humayun. It is the first garden-tomb in the Indian subcontinent & was commissioned by Humayun's chief consort Empress Bega Begum in the year 1565. The design of Humayun's tomb is a typical Mughal architecture with Persian influences.

Finally, visit Qutub Minar which is a world heritage site. The tall minaret was constructed in 1192 by Qutab-ud-din Aibak. An exquisite example of Indo-Islamic Afghan architecture & has survived the ravages of time impressively. This great masterpiece is surrounded by lush green gardens Qutub Minar is the favourite destination of tourists. It is India's one of the most visited monument.
