If there are no special requests the tour usually takes us first to Palm Jumeirah, Dubai's famous man-made island shaped like a palm tree. Here we stop for photos outside hotel Atlantis with its impressive architecture.
Next stop will be at Dubai Marina, the most modern and popular residential /commercial area of Dubai. The Marina has not only stunning architecture but also many hotels with excellent nightlife.
We drive past some of the Sheikhs palaces and reach Madinat Jumeirah, a resort that houses a modern but traditional bazar. We walk around and visit a few shops, if you like.
From Madinat Jumeirah we have the best view of Dubai’s' no 1 landmark Burj Al Arab. This unique hotel has made Dubai famous in the world.
Our tour continues with a nice drive along the coast through Jumeirah, the most exclusive residential area of the city. Before reaching "old" Dubai, we stop for photos at Jumeirah Mosque
and Zabeel Palace, the official residence of the ruler of Dubai.
The traditional part of town is situated at the mouth of the creek, a natural inlet. Here we walk through the textile market Souq Al Khabeer, a perfect place for good bargains on souvenirs, pashmina scarves and traditional clothing and textiles.
Next, we take an Abra (watertaxi) ride to the other side of the creek
in order to explore the traditional Spice market
and to marvel at the extravagant shop windows in the Gold Bazaar.
A special highlight of the tour is a visit to the observation deck on the 124th floor of Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. After 4 hours of touring, the tour ends at the entrance to Burj Khalifa, where you will be given your entry tickets. The entrance to Burj Khalifa is inside Dubai Mall, the largest Mall in the Middle East with more than 1000 shops and many other attractions such as a the Dubai Aquarium, The Underwater Zoo, Kidzania, Sega Republic, Dubai Ice Rink and most important The Dubai Fountains. So don't make plans for after the tour. It is up to you how long you will stay on the observation decks inside Burj Khalifa and afterwards you will need a break to let it all sink in and plenty of time to explore the mall.
The Dubai Fountains operate every day from 6 pm onwards, every half an hour. The Fountain Show is mesmerizing and takes place by the lake at the base of Burj Khalifa. The lake is surrounded by many restaurants with indoor and outdoor seating.
You will return to your hotel or cruise ship in your own time by taxi or metro. Taxis are always available and inexpensive.
I look forward to welcoming you in exciting Dubai!
