About this experience

Experience everyday local food favorites and Papeete historical monuments.

Morning Tours

Come and experience the modern local street food culture with Orama, as she will immerse your foodie taste buds around the Papeete municipal market and city surroundings. “Matete” means Market in Tahitian, where locals go to shop for seasonal fruits, vegetables, and fish. We will visit local vendors and taste authentic local food, such as seasonal fruits, snacks, fish dishes, juices to name a few of the delicious tastings from the three main culinary cultures: Tahitian, Chinese and French. You will experience a minimum of 10-12 tastings, depending on the season and/or availability.

We will also be visiting a few historical sites of Papeete city.

Come and experience the local lifestyle with us, while we take you on a food discovery of the Tahiti market place. “Matete” means Market in Tahitian, where locals go to shop for seasonal fruits, vegetables, and fish. We will visit local vendors and taste authentic food, such as seasonal fruits, snacks, fish dishes, pai, mape and other delicious tastings from the three main culinary cultures: Tahitian, Chinese and French. Guests will experience a minimum of 6-8 tastings, depending on the season and/or availability. The price indicated is per person.

Will be able to visit inside and outside of cathedral, and get a little history facts.
