Detailed itinerary

1

The temple is situated in the middle of the small island on the artificial lake in Villa Borghese. At that time, in fact, reproductions of ancient temples and statues were realized as a decorative landscape feature. Enjoy to the utmost this romantic corner in Villa Borghese by renting a rowboat!

2

The inventor Giovan Battista Embriaco built this hydrochronometer (also known as a water clock) in 1867 and displayed it at the 1867 Universal Exposition in Paris.

In 1873, the hydrochronometer was placed in the Villa Borghese gardens in a fountain designed by the architect Gioacchino Ersoch. The water clock works 24/7.
