The 5 hour Private Kauai Waterfalls and Food Tasting tour is a perfect mix of beautiful natural sites, history & local food tasting. We call it short & sweet!

Kick back and enjoy the ride on our clean air condition vehicles while we share with you the stories of our islands, mixed with a dash of humor. You will visit waterfalls, a beautiful beach park, archeological sites, and taste locally made pastries and chocolate. We will enjoy lunch at the historic Kapaa town, where you will have many choices from food trucks and smoothie bars to restaurants.

Detailed itinerary

We will meet all our travelers by the Kauai Bakery. It is time to set the mood right for the day with an introduction to the legendary Portuguese doughnuts known as malasadas. Get ready for a delicious sweet treat. Coffee and other savory treats are also available for purchase. Please arrive at 8:00am so you have time to enjoy some coffee and pastries before the start of the tour.

Stop 2

This is no ordinary pond, it is a jurassic size pond built in ancient times by the first inhabitants of Hawaii, the people from the Marquesas Islands. Marvel at the beautiful surroundings as we drive you through the Kipu Kai area. Learn about the fascinating legend of the Menehunes, the archeological and cultural importance of the pond. Many Hollywood movies have been filmed in this area. We will stop in two areas to take many pictures.

Stop 3

Last but not least is time to visit one more waterfall, because you can't never have enough waterfalls. Iconic Wailua Falls was featured on the opening scene of the Fantasy Island Tv show. You will have plenty of time for pictures. The perfect closure for a tour.

Time to take a stroll down the path by the beautiful Lydgate Beach Park, where you can soak your feet in the famous Morgan Ponds, learn about the ancient temple of worship were Hawaiians greeted the rising sun daily, the city of refuge, and more. This is a leisure walk for all age groups. you will have many picture opportunities.

Stop 5

At this stop you will walk to visit two sites, Opaekaa Falls and the Wailua River lookout, located in Wailua town where the Hawaiian royalty lived in ancient times. Beautiful views and many picture ops await for you here.

Stop at Kauai's premier chocolatier and sample the many flavors that are sure to tantalize your senses. All chocolate bars are crafted on island from cocoa beans grown on Kauai.

Drive through the backcountry of Wailua Homesteads on our way to Kapaa town. Enjoy stunning views of Mount Waialeale, Kauai's tallest mountain, and the center of the island. Get to see where locals live.

Enjoy lunch in historic Kapaa town where you will find many choices of locally made food, from food trucks to restaurants. Also available will be fruit stands, smoothie and coffee bars, and shave ice. We love food and hope you do too.

Last but not least, we will take you on a lovely drive on Kapaas bypass road. Enjoy the views of our famous Sleeping Giant Mountain, while we share the story of this mythical man who saved the day for the common people in ancient times.

There will be short driving time in between our stops. However you will never spend more than about 25 mts in the car between stops.
This tour takes place on the East side of Kauai in its entirety. You will visit the towns of Lihue, Wailua and Kapaa
There will be plenty bathroom stops. However two of the stops do do have facilities

Meeting point

If you are staying in the Lihue area or coming from the cruise ship meet us in front of this store by the shave ice sign. From the harbor is about a 10-15 mts walk.
Meeting time is at 8:50am sharp
