Children of Deaf Adults Location: Gloucester (60 mins) → Manchester by the Sea Location: Manchester-by-the-Sea (30 mins)
Gloucester is a city in Essex County, Massachusetts, located on the Cape Ann Peninsula along the Atlantic coast. After arriving in Gloucester, we began exploring iconic locations featured in movies and TV shows along the shoreline. Our first stop was the fishing port pier—the very seaport where Ruby set off to chase her dreams in the film CODA (Hearing Girl).
Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts, is located on the southern side of Cape Ann, where the peninsula meets the mainland. Known for its picturesque beaches and charming streetscapes, the town is also famous as the primary filming location for the movie Manchester by the Sea. Many key scenes—such as Lee Chandler’s home and various town streets—were filmed right here.
