About this experience

Spend a day cycling along the country roads about 35 Km on two wheels. You will get adventurous working experience with a tea plantation in Akuressa. This is a relatively leisurely journey with 2 or 3 small uphill climbs (make no mistake though you should be relatively fit!). After enjoying a brief stop for a refreshing king coconut you will arrive at the local village – a brief 15-minute walk to the river where you can enjoy a dip in freshwater fed from the Hiyare Rainforest. This ride will take about 7 hours to collect new memories.

Detailed itinerary

08.00 AM - You will be greeted and picked up by our TUK TUK driver and driven you to the starting point.

08.30 AM - On arrival at the starting point, our cycling guide will give you a brief introduction and safety requirements about the tour. Thereafter, you will start the cycling ride from the main road to a small village located 18 Km away from Unawatuna.

09.30 AM – Along the way, you will experience the local biodiversity in Sri Lanka- working tea plantation, tropical palms, ferns and lots of coconut trees. Also, you will witness lush green paddy fields which is a big part of people's lives here in south Sri Lanka. A short journey on the main road and a stop for a refreshing king coconut winds down your tour before you get to the local village.

11.00 AM – On arrival to the local house, you will do a 15 minutes walk to the river where you can enjoy a dip in freshwater fed from the Hiyare rainforest.

12.00 PM – After the village visit, you will be able to enjoy an authentic Sri Lankan lunch from a village house. Thereafter, you will be ridden back to the starting point of the tour.

02.00 PM - After an enjoyable cycling tour, you will be taken back to your hotel in Galle by our TUK TUK driver.

02.30 PM - You will be dropped off at your hotel.
