About this experience

What better way to explore one of the most historical town near Shanghai—still mostly survived China's modernization drive—than by having an indigenous inhabitant tell you stories about the history and evolution of the 2500-year-old quaint town. I am a local Shanghainese—born, and lived here all my life.We will be going to Suzhou by bullet Train(at the speed of 180 miles/hour!) or a car(van) -Known as "Venice of The East ", 60 miles from downtown Shanghai, Suzhou has managed to maintain most of its old buildings and population. Besides exploring the a beautiful 700-year-old Ancient Chinese Garden , we will also visit Suzhou Silk Museum, known as the origin of Chinese silk, silk has been woven in Suzhou since about 3000years ago! after refueling with a typical Suzhou lunch, we will take a Suzhou style Gondola trip down the charming canals. Finally, we will sip some tea from local tea farms while enjoying a beautiful tea ceremony , so you can immerse deeper into local life.

You will depart from your Shanghai hotel in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle to Shanghai Railway Station to have a wonderful bullet train experience to Suzhou. Relax while marvelling the ancient cityscape on the road to the Lion Forest Garden in Suzhou city.

You will visit the famous Lion Forest garden, an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spend your relax morning strolling around the ancient house with delicate pavilions, corridors, ponds, rockeries, walkways and lush green trees. Enjoy the picturesque view and hear the rich history from your professional guide. Sitting in the pavilion beside the pond, feel like stepping back in history.

From Lion Forest Garden, you will visit the Pingjiang Road, which is a beautiful old street beside the canal. We will refuel with a traditional Chinese lunch nearby.

Being the "Most Elegant City" of China, Suzhou is know for its silk weaving industry for thousands of years, you will be able to see the history of silk production in Suzhou, and even a live presetation of traditional silk weaving process

Note:The museum is closed on Mondays,we will opt to visit the 1000-year-old Grace Temple&Pagoda

You will then enjoy a relaxing boat trip on the old Grand Canal.
