This is the perfect tour to make you feel like a true local. We go to several food stops that are hard to access for the regular traveler. Many places in Japan require Japanese so having a guide who can translate and guide you through the menus is key. The neighborhood we explore is filled with quaint eateries, tiny bars, and coffee shops - all of which we taste from. Fun opportunities pop up along the trip like a classic old candy shop, an award-winning chocolatería, a special sake store, and even a vintage kimono store. While we explore, you will learn the history of the area and have the most gorgeous photo opportunities. It’s a tour you do not want to miss!!!
Duration: 3 hours
All food and drinks included
Nakameguro
We begin the trip at a local favorite third wave coffee shop, after which we go to a lovely patisserie for a special breakfast snack, then enjoy a freshly made onigiri. After that, we will stroll along Nakameguro’s famed river, lined with cherry blossom trees, charming cafes, and get to stop for a tasting at an award winning chocolate shop where everything is made in-house from bean to bar. We’ll show you our favorite Japanese whiskey purchasing opportunities and where the secret stash of every kit kat flavor exists for you to buy as gifts or for yourself. Our last stop is a sit-down style lunch, usually at a handmade gyoza shop or a handmade soba shop. This is a fluid trip that can be customized due to the many options we have. The world is our oyster!
Exit the South Gate of Nakameguro station, and we will be waiting for you just to the left hand side in front of the tiny flower shop.
Sake tasting course may be added for an additional $49/Request via email bookings@japanfoodtrips.com
