To make the most of your day, your journey will start early in the morning, 7AM from your Marrakech accommodation. Sit back and relax inside the air-conditioned car and soak up the scenery as you travel through the Atlas Mountains. Enjoy the view at the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, the highest point of The Atlas Mountains accessible by car (2260m).
At midday, you'll arrive at the famous fortified city of Ait Ben Haddou - the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech in present-day Morocco. Travel back in time with our local official guide taking you around the kasbah. The Ksar of Aït-Ben-Haddou is a striking example of southern Moroccan architecture. Listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site, it has also been the backdrop for many Hollywood productions such as Game of Thrones, Star Wars, The Gladiator, Alexander, Prince of Persia, The Mummy, and many more.
After the guiding tour enjoy a locally made lunch in one of Ait Benhaddou's charming restaurants overlooking the ancient village.
Heading towards the city of Ouarzazate, you will be taken to the world’s largest film studio Atlas. Home to many famous Hollywood productions, the studio, and the surrounding area are still in use by various film industries from all over the world. Inside the studio, you’ll have a chance to visit various movie sets such as Cleopatra, The Gladiator, Alexander, and many more.
Early afternoon you’ll be taken to the city of Ouarzazate. Nicknamed ‘The gate of the desert ’, the town is inhabited by Tamazight speaking population, who constructed famous kasbahs that the area is known for. You'll have a chance to visit the most impressive Kasbah Taourirt. Originally built in the 19th century, it was owned by the el Glaoui clan, a family that had a powerful stronghold of one of Morocco’s most significant southern caravan routes to West Africa.
Your journey back to Marrakech starts in the early evening. Estimated arrival time 8pm.
