Known as the ‘small fortress’ in the Tamazight language, Essaouira is an exceptional example of a late 18th-century fortified town listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Home to traditional Gnawa music and argan oil, the town is also an example of a multicultural centre as proven by the coexistence of diverse religious ethnic groups, such as the Amazighs, Arabs, Africans and Europeans.
Today is known for Jimi Hendrix's favourite spot, Essaouira’s hippy and laid back vibe with its artistic touch attract travellers from around the world. Essaouira is also famous for surfing, film sets (Games of Thrones, John Wick) as well as cuisine. Fresh Atlantic fish and seafood at the local restaurants is a must-do when visiting Essaouira.

Start your day 8am with a pick up from your accommodation. Drive through the rolling hills filled with various farmlands of argan, almond and olive trees. The route is famous for goats climbing Argan trees, a bizarre and very interesting thing to spot along the way.
The first stop of the journey will be a visit to the local Argan cooperative run entirely by local women. Here you will get to know the process of extracting Argan oil and try handmade products ranging from cooking to beauty essentials.
After arriving in Essaouira, explore the city’s rich history starting from the charming 18th century Medina, UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Stroll down the beautiful long coast overlooking the old fortified city and explore local markets in the souks filled with handmade products. Enjoy a camel or horse ride along the charming coast. After visiting the city’s famous spots, take a lunch break in one of the local restaurants. Taste fresh Atlantic fish and seafood, a must-do when visiting Essaouira.
