Detailed itinerary

1

The tour starts with a hotel pickup followed by a 30-minute drive to the 1968 Arenal Volcano Park, where you will start your activity, a 2.30 hour hike to the base of Arenal Volcano. The hike is fairly easy and most of it is over flat ground. The goal is to arrive at a Dry lava field from 1968 eruption (this part of the trail is rocky), see it, talk about it and give you all the history about the Arenal Volcano.

2
Stop 2

La Fortuna Waterfall is an amazing natural spot, about 70-75 meters tall. To get to the bottom, you'll need to go down and then climb back up around 500 steps, but it’s totally worth it. There are safe spots where you can swim and enjoy the fresh water. This is the perfect mix of adventure and tropical beauty in Costa Rica.

3
Stop 3

You'll spend about 2.5 hours walking through the rainforest, crossing 6 hanging bridges and 10 regular ones over a 3.2-km trail at Mistico Hanging Bridges. Along the way, you’ll get awesome panoramic views of the volcano and the whole ecosystem surrounding the forest. Just remember, this is a tropical forest, so rain is definitely a possibility—so bring something waterproof!
