Hakone Shrine and Lake Ashinoko Maritime Torii (Approx. 80 minutes, free time)
Lake Ashinoko is a volcanic lake located on Mt. Hakone, formed about 3,000 years ago, and is the largest lake in Kanagawa Prefecture.
It is a well-known sightseeing spot and a great place to see Mount Fuji from a distance. The red torii on Lake Ashinoko is the site of Hakone Shrine.
Hakone Shrine
Hakone Shrine was founded in 757 by Manmaki Kamimoto on Hakone Mountain, which has been a sacred place for mountain beliefs since ancient times, and was worshipped by many military generals such as Minamoto Yoritomo and Tokugawa Ieyasu. Hakone Shrine has been honored as the Kanto's chief guardian of Hakone, and is believed to be the god of good luck in terms of traffic safety, fulfillment of wishes, success in love, and good luck in getting rid of misfortune.
Hakone Ropeway-Togendai Station-Owakudani Course (about 30 minutes) is included in the cable car fee.
The best views of Hakone's cable car can be found near Owakudani and Owakudani. The most beautiful part is between the two parts because you can see the beautiful Mount Fuji. The main attraction between Taoyuantai and Lake Ashi is the crater lake.

Owakudani is located in Hakone City, southeast of Mount Fuji. It is a well-known tourist destination in Hakone. The remains of the crater were formed by a volcanic eruption in the northern belly of Mt. Kamiyama at the end of the Hakone volcanic activity 1000 years ago. Most of the spring water in Owakudani is poisonous, also known as "Big Hell". In 1876, it was renamed Owakudani after Emperor Meiji visited there in 1868.

The hike from the Nature Research Trail entrance took about 15 minutes and there was a small shop called Tamago Tea House where smoke was rising.
