Detailed itinerary

Stop At: Discovery Day Trips, Marrakech, Marrakech-Tensift-El Haouz Region The unique day trip consists of a day trip from Marrakesh to the Atlas Mountains and Berber Villages with an excursion to the Imlil valley. We start at nine o’clock from Marrakech where our driver will pick you up for a one hour and half hour drive to face the great Atlas mountains (namely Toubkal the highest Mountain in north Africa 4167M). In addition to your guided tour we will take you around the valley to see many beautiful waterfalls and the Berber villages, followed by enjoying a cup of tea with a local Berber family to capture a glimpse of their traditions and to see how they live. The guide will explain many things about the area and its history. After walking one to two hours (or more) depending upon your walking ability, a delicious lunch will be served in a Berber home. You also have the option of riding mules, which is a great experience in itself. After lunch, your guide will walk you down to Imlil to get back to Marrakech. Duration: 7 hours Stop At: High Atlas Mountains, Marrakech-Tensift-El Haouz Region After meeting you at your Riad/Meeting point. We will start our unforgettable cultural day trip towards the Atlas Mountains and its deep valleys. After few kilometres driving to the south, we will stop just before reaching our first valley of Asni to take pictures of the oldest berber village of Azrou. The drive continues further into the Atlas valleys to reach an altitude of 1200m near the Moulay Brahim gorges where we will leave the car to take photos. We will then make our way to the green Imlil valley; my home village where my family is waiting to welcoming us with a fresh cup of mint tea before serving a 3 course meal ( salad, tagine or berber couscous) on an open rooftop with an extremely wide view over the whole valley. Here you will have the opportunity to exchange the culture and learn about the basic lifestyle of the locals. After lunch I will be happy to take you for a unique and scenic (1 to 2 hours) walk through the green walnut fields and the typical berber villages before driving back to Marrakech. During this very flexible tour, I will be very happy to give you a full insight into the Berber culture and to share with you all my knowledge.
