About this experience

By early January, the almond blossom starts to bloom in the hills and mountains of Tenerife and lasts until about the end of February.

The Almond Blossom Trail is a truly beautiful walk as during this time of year the landscape is dotted with shades of pink and white. This walk takes us through open countryside, farm land and the lava flows from the 1909 eruption at the Chinyero vent and has spectacular views over the mountains and down to sea.

The Almond Blossom Trail is a truly beautiful walk as during this time of year the landscape is dotted with shades of pink and white. The walk takes us through open countryside with spectacular views over the mountains, forests and down to sea.

This walk starts in "the high valley" above Santiago del Teide, Tenerife. It is a very fertile area with lots of farm land and of course the main attraction the beautiful blossom on the almond trees.

What's not included

Lunch
No food or drink is included, you must bring a picnic lunch and at least 1L of water per person.
Hiking equipment. You need to wear good trainers with a good grip on the bottom or walking shoes or boots. You also need head and skin protection against the sun, face masks and hand sanitizer wipes

Important notes

IMPORTANT: You need to bring a picnic lunch and at least 2L of water per person, more if it is hot. You also need a cap/hat, sun tan cream and good footwear is important ie. walking shoes/boots or at least trainers with a good grip on the bottom. Also you need a light jacket AND A WATERPROOF as it can rain in our hills and mountains AT ANY TIME; this is absolutely imperative.
