Your guide will introduce you to story of a Bosnian Kings and viziers, and will make sure no questions remain unanswered, even of personal nature, so don’t refrain from sharing your thoughts and opinions at any moment of time.

2

Morning ride will take us through interesting regions of central Bosnia, passing by Visoko town and valley of Bosnian Pyramids (can be arranged as a stop, but due to time limits on this day is recommended in our 2day package), and then along the flows of river Bosna and Lasva and especially beautiful flow and canyon of Vrbas until we arrive to Jajce.

3

Once in Jajce, first thing we go and see is one of the World’s most beautiful waterfalls, and the only one in the World placed in the city center, famous Pliva Waterfalls – spot where Pliva river ends its flow and meets Vrbas is simply breathtaking.

After we bless our eyes and souls we will head for a walking tour through Jajce and visit Jajce Citadel (Fortress), the Museum of the Second Session of the National Liberation Army of Yugoslavia (AVNOJ), Medvjed Kula, the Tower of St. Luke, famous Catacombs – underground church and one of the World’s very few mosques named after woman – Mosque of Esma Sultanija.

Jajce Citadel is amazingly interesting place so no doubt you will enjoy.

4

The 2nd Session of AVNOJ, which was held in Jajce on November 29th 1943 had for it result the foundation of SFR Yugoslavia.

The Jajce-born Yugoslavia was the socialist counterpart of the royal residence from the Middle Ages.

At the same session a document was adopted to mark the completion of the establishment of the state authorities of Yugoslavia. The building was reconstructed in 1947 and 1953. The Museum was founded in 1953. The first permanent collection of the Museum was installed in 18th February 1959.

In the course of the war (1992-1995) the Museum was exposed to significant damage, and its storerooms were plundered.

5

Catacombs (underground church, the crypt) in the Jajce is located inside of city walls. Between the late 14th th and early 15th-century, when the town experienced a remarkable political and cultural development, the mighty bosnian duke Hrvoje Vukcic - Hrvatinić gave the order to build catacombs as a place of his last residence and last place of residence Hrvatinića ducal family.

Catacombs (underground church, the crypt) is an underground building carved into the solid rock and is placed 6m under the earth.

Under the decision of the Commission for National Monuments Protection of BiH, the monument is since 2003 proclaimed as national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

6

The fortress is the main stronghold of the defence system of a medieval town. It was built in the period between the 13th and the first half of the 14th century. The most famous ruler of the medieval town of Jajce was the duke Hrvoje Vukcic Hrvatinic at the turn of the 14th and the 15th centuries.

In the mid 15th century, the royal court moved in to Jajce, when a palace was built within the fortress. A biphora remained in bastion II, where quite possibly a dwelling place of the feudal lord was placed.

At the southern wall of the fortress is "the roaly portal " that was opened some time around 15th century.

7

The Bear Tower Jajce (Bosnia and Herzegovina) was built in Romanesque style, and being so indicated that it is the one of earliest military structures from the Bosnian MIddle Ages.

Thory of names is simple - due to its thickness of the walls which are reaching between 4.5 and 6 meters it was given such a name.

Also there is mythical one which says that it was named so because it was place where bears fed on captives and convicts, who were kept there. Pretty amazing.

Belfry St.Luke is the only surviving medieval tower in continental part of the Balkans, with height of 23,15 meters it was built in first half of XV century.

The Tower of St.Luke in Jajce is actually the bell tower of the Gothic church of Holy Mary, although the whole church came to be called that name due to metonymony. Being built in first half of XV century, with characteristics of three different styles: Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance.

The building of the church is not dated exactly, but it is assumed that it was erected at the site of an earlier Romanesque church at the beginning of XV century. The church was the place where the relics of St.Luke the Evangelist were enshrined. The relics were brought to Jajce by the last Bosnian Queen, Mara Jelena as her dowry.

8

Once we fully soak up the atmosphere of amazing Jajce we will head towards the two lakes – Large and Small Pliva Lake.

Whatever you prefer, walking around, kayaking or canoeing (in 1963. World and European Championship in kayaking and canoeing on still waters were held on Pliva lake), laying on the beaches, swimming, fishing or just photography – everything is only a “desire” away

We will make a lunch break and enjoy some quality time at Large Pliva Lake. After Jajce and surroundings it is time to head back, but the we are not ending this day yet.

9

Very interesting part of the Pliva lakes story are Mills at small Pliva lake. Amongst people famously called “Mlinčići” this place used to be main tourist potential of Great Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy.

It will be hard to decide which place deserves the throne of the most picturesque place during this tour, but this captivating place definitely is to be considered as one. We will make sure to do some nice and easy walks and take as many photos as possible.

10

Vizziers town and birthplace of our Nobel winning author Ivo Andric famous for its tasty food, especially cevapcici and white cheese. Travnik is a town definitely worth visiting.

11

Old Fort is one of the most beautiful and best preserved medieval fortified buildings in Bosnia on which later historical periods left their distinctive characteristics.

12

Probably the most beautiful mosque in whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

13

At around 8 PM, we will arrive back to Sarajevo and drop you off at your desired address.
