About this experience

Glaciares Gourmet is the most complete boat tour in Los Glaciares National Park and this tours is the best option to discover Calafate's glaciers in style.

This tour, unlike other options, is offered in its Premium option, which includes access to the VIP lounge, located in the best place of the boat, so you will enjoy the best views from the room or from its own private terrace. In addition, it includes open bar service, four courses lunch and even its own private bathroom.

You will see the Upsala, Spegazzini, Perito Moreno, Heim and Seco glaciers. This is the only navigation that allows you to visit the five main glaciers of Los Glaciares National Park.

A landing is made before lunch, so you will take a one hour walk through the Patagonian forest located in the Spegazzini channel.

Additionally, when booking your reservation, you can choose the option to disembark at the Perito Moreno walkways to make the most of your day.

Detailed itinerary

Pick-up in El Calafate - Los Glaciares National Park

From 7:00 a.m. you will be picked up at your accommodation and will take you. If you to Puerto Privado La Soledad, located 29 milles away from El Calafate.

Assisted by the guides, you will buy the entrance ticket to Los Glaciares National Park, which is not included in the tour as there are different entrance options.

At 8:30 a.m., boarding begins on a large catamaran with four outdoor decks, so that you can comfortably observe the spectacular scenery of Lake Argentino.

IMPORTANT: This tour is offered only with the VIP option, which gives access to the premium area of the ship, a room with its own terrace, located in the best place, which offers an open bar throughout the tour and where a 4-course tasting menu is served. It also has a private bathroom.

Stop 2

A few minutes after departure you will spot the floating icebergs, up to four times bigger than the ship itself! Those are the blocks of ice that break off from the Upsala Glacier.

Upsala front wall is so enormous, that for safety reasons the ship will not get within 6 milles of it.

During the entire boat tour, every time the catamaran approaches the wall of a glacier or a large block of ice, the captain will be in the are for around 30 minutes. Additonally, will move the boat so that it can be seen perfectly from the inside as well as from any of the decks, so that you can enjoy them wherever you are.

Heim and Seco Glaciers

You will continue sailing and you will come across the curious hanging glaciers. These are the Heim and Seco glaciers, which are named so because of their hanging from the mountain without touching the water of Lake Argentino.

Las Vacas Post

Silence of engines. You will get off the boat at the Puesto de las Vacas and take a quiet walk coordinated by the team of guides.

El Puesto de las Vacas is an old Patagonian estancia located in the heart of the National Park. Here you will find horses, old houses, and other creations of the pioneers of Patagonia. Enjoy this experience while the guides explain the history of this unusual place.

Speggazzini Glacier - Lunch on board

The Speggazzini Glacier is impressive wherever you look. The part that overhangs the lake has a height of 425 feet (130 m). It is almost twice as high as the Perito Moreno Glacier. If the cold makes you hungry, this is your moment: lunch time!

You will enjoy a special four-course menu: two starters, a main course, and dessert.

Full belly, happy heart: the boat tour continues through the Canal de Los Témpanos until reaching the northern part of the Perito Moreno Glacier.

The Perito Moreno is an immense glacier that fascinates visitors with its activity, you will see the ice crack and when you least expect it, you will hear an incredible roar in the water.

Stop 7

At this moment, depending on the option selected, you will disembark at the Perito Moreno walkways, where you will spend over an hour before returning by minibus to El Calafate, arriving around 7 p.m.

If you have not selected the option that visits the Perito Moreno walkways, you will return to the port, and the transportation will take you back to El Calafate, arriving around 6 p.m.

We will pick you up at your accommodation in El Calafate starting at 7:15 in the morning. The pick-up process may take up to 45 minutes depending on the number of passengers and the pick-up order.
If you have not yet provided us with the name and address of your hotel, please remember to do so as soon as possible so we can coordinate the pick-up. If your hotel is not located in the center of El Calafate, we will indicate a nearby meeting point you can reach.
