Our first stop is the archaeological site of Aptera, set on an impressive position. Our group has time to take magnificent photos of the view to Souda bay from the fortress of Koules, and then at the village of Stylos, famous for its natural spring water.
After a short drive through magnificent countryside, we arrive to a nature lover’s paradise, Almyrida, for swimming & lunch.
Almyrida is a great place to stay as it is small enough to retain a quaint charm but big enough for a choice of places to eat and drink.
Our next stop is the village Gavalochori with its Historical Folklore Museum which constitutes a characteristic manifestation of the local architecture, and introduces us to the manufacturing traditions of Crete such as silk, pottery, stone sculpturing & woodcarving.
A drive through the narrow streets of village Vamos will give you a taste of a once-great past and you have the impression that time stands still.
The last stop will be in the village of Vrisses in Olive oil factory producing Cretan Products as Organic & Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Wine, Tsikoudia, Ouzo, Liqueur, Herbs and cosmetic products.
