Detailed itinerary

1

Punnamada kayal – river famous for Nehru trophy boat race. Cruise through this river for 30mins. This river is the main passage of most of the houseboats before they enter to the big lake or canals.

2

The boat will enter SNDP Thod (Thod is a local language means river). During cruise through this place, you can experience temple, church, local homes & a Govt health centre. At the end of this river, the boat enter river pamba, relatively a big river.

3

Our journey began on the broad, welcoming waters of the Pamba River, a delightful cruise lasting but thirty minutes. Soon, the landscape began to change as our boat veered into the Irumbanam Thod, a canal so remarkably narrow it felt like a hidden path, leading us deeper into the heart of Kerala's backwaters. This slender waterway served as a vital link, connecting the grand Pamba to the tranquil haven of Meenappally Kayal. The main attraction of Irumbanam canal is both sides paddy fields and rich in cocnut palms.

4

This smaller lake was a revelation, ringed by the quiet charm of local villages and the discreet elegance of many resorts. The crowning glory of Meenappally was undeniably its unique terminal, a graceful structure extending into the very heart of the lake. It was here that our vessel gently docked, offering us the perfect canvas for unforgettable photographs and, more importantly, a feast for the senses: an authentic Kerala lunch, showcasing the freshest catch from these very waters.

5

Once our delicious Kerala lunch was finished, our journey continued! We'd soon head into Muttel Thod, a narrow canal that acts as a charming pathway connecting Meenappally to the lovely Kainakari village. The main highlight of this canal is the Muttel Palam (Palam means bridge), which you'll find right at its very end. This bridge is quite special: it's very narrow and goes steeply upwards, which means some drivers prefer not to cross it. After the bridge, our boat will finally enter Kainakari, one of Alleppey's most famous and beautiful villages. We'll then stop our main houseboat and switch to a smaller canoe for an exciting one-hour tour, allowing us to explore the hidden gems deep within Kainakari village.

6

After your canoe ride, step aboard our houseboat. It's the perfect time to relax with a cup of traditional coffee or tea. We'll also treat you to our authentic banana fritters, locally known as "pazampori," made from special "Ethapazam" bananas found only in Kerala. As you enjoy your treats, we'll cruise across the vast and scenic Vembanad Lake, Kerala's largest freshwater lake. Soak in the beautiful views before we bring you back to our starting point. You'll leave with unforgettable memories and wonderful photos!
