Athirappilly waterfalls – termed as Niagara of Kerala, is the biggest and famous waterfall in Kerala. Located at a distance of 85 kms away from Kochi city, Athirappilly is also famous for its fauna and flora as its located inside the forest. Along with the water fall, the sholayar range forest is very famous for "Great Pied Hornbill or Giant Hornbill". Some time you can also spot "Malabar Giant Squirrel". Both these are generally spotted Athirappilly forest range.
The Best Time to visit - Jun to Jan is the best time to see the water fall.
When not to visit - Due to summer rom Feb end to May end, there will be much less water in Athirappilly falls. The other two falls may not have water at all and you may find dry during this period

Thumboormuzhi dam and garden is part of the Ezattumugham Prakrithi Gramam project. The project includes hanging bridge, which is the main attraction, a butterfly garden, kids play area, a watch tower to see the river etc are the main attraction of this place. Hanging bridge is the main attraction as when you walk on this bridge, you can see Chalakudi river flows under your feet, view from middle of the river, and one of the best place for photography. The butter fly park is another attraction. This place is located before Athirapally waterfalls from Kochi to Athirapally route. This is one of the best places for photography and family outing.

• Open at 0800 hrs and entry close at 1630 hrs. Entry fee is Rs 40 per adult, Rs 10 for Children and 150 for foreigners.
• Best time and season to visit. Best season to visit is after monsoon ie. from Aug to Feb and best time to visit is till 1100 hrs or after 1500 hrs.
• You can see and experience the waterfall from two different places. One is from the top and other is bottom.
• Since the pathway to the bottom is too steep, climbing back for persons with heart disease, breathing problem and handicapped may face difficulty.
• Bathing in the river is possible in selected places. So keep your changing cloths with you before entering.
• Plastic bottles or water bottles are allowed to carry subject to a security deposit. You will lose the security deposit in case these are not taken back.
• Eateries are not allowed inside the forest.
• Wheel chair is accessible at the top of the falls. Wheel chair rental not available.
• Total time to visit top of the falls is minimum 1 hrs and bottom is 1.5 hrs. In case you visit Athirapally falls along with Charpa and Vazachal, you may need a half day.
• Close to entrance, restaurants and coffee shops are available.
Charpa waterfall is located 3 km further Athirapally waterfalls on the way to Sholayar Dam. This is relatively a small fall, but best to see during monsoon. This is located left side of the road and there is no entry ticket required.
This falls is located 5 km further to Athirapally waterfalls. This is a different kind of waterfall. The attraction is water is flowing by cascading in several steps. You can go very close to the fall till the fencing and watch closely the milky water. This is one of the best place for relax and enjoy as there is a park and coffee shop is also available. The entry ticket purchased at Athirapally waterfall is valid here also therefore, should keep this with you.
