This is, by far, one of the most romantic locations in Portugal, due to the offerings between kings and queens and, above all, since 1210. It was in that year that Afonso II offered the town and the Castle, as a wedding gift to his wife. , D. Urraca. Also in 1282, D. Dinis and Queen Santa Isabel spent their honeymoon in this Castle.
