Malaga´s cathedral was built between 1528 and 1782 on or near the site of a former mosque.

The theatre is the oldest monument in Malaga and was built in Malaga Roman Theatrethe first century BC, under Emperor Augustus.

La Alcazaba is Malaga's most important landmark and overlooks the city from a hilltop inland. It is one of two Moorish fortresses in the city.
