Castle of Oia ro Epanomerias castle is located at the modern village of Oia. Also called castle of Agios Nikolaos.
Also considered among the best places offers a direct view to the sunset.

Castelli (castle) of Pyrgos located at the highest point of Pyrgos village named by the locals also Kainourgiobourgo (new castle as the locals used to name it) dated back at the Byzantine era having only one gate for entrance in order to protect locals from piratε raids.

Emporeio or Nimporeio village located at the south part of the island. has approximately 80 houses on it being a trade center at the medieval period.
It was builder at 15 century at venetian style, and someone can walk at the narrow paths that circling the village next to traditionally builder houses.

Castelli of Akrotiri or Pounda or La Ponda builder back at 1335 has 200 houses around it unfortunately with only a few ruins of them remain still until today. offering as place an alternative view to the caldera from the west.
