Detailed itinerary

1

First opened in 1976, Sokcho Beach is one of Korea's most popular beaches. It is located a short walking distance from Sokcho Express Bus Terminal, making it a top choice among tourists. The waters here are clean and shallow, adding to the popularity of this beach during the summer season. There are also many restaurants and convenience facilities located near the beach, as well as a small park with walking trails through a pine forest. Along the beach, visitors can find interesting and unique photo spots and sculptures. Busking performances and festivals also take place throughout the year.

2

The Sokcho Tourist Fish Market, an essential tourist attraction in Sokcho, offers all sorts of things. The market includes a large building with a basement and two floors above ground and specialized alley stores. The building consists of shops for clothes, daily necessities, and other general products; the Nonghyup Hanaro Mart; and the Raw Fish Center, which sells fresh live fish and seafood at a reasonable price. The alley market is divided into several alleyways specialized in each product such as a vegetable & fruit alley, a chili pepper alley, a blood sausage alley, a salted seafood market alley, a chicken alley, and so on.

3

Cheoksan Hot Springs Zone consists of hot springs at Chocksan Spa and Cheoksan Hot Spring Resort. Hot springs in Cheoksan are known to be beneficial for people with skin diseases, eye diseases, gastroenteric disorders, and neuralgia. Not only are the waters soft and great for the skin, but drinking the water is said to beautify the skin and improve blood circulation. Cheoksan Hot Springs Zone is located a mere 10 minutes away from one of Korea’s most beautiful mountain ranges, Seoraksan Mountain, and so the resort is considered the perfect place to relax and relieve fatigue after an invigorating hike.

4

The ideal way to comfortably appreciate the magnificent landscape of Seoraksan Mountain is using the Seorak Cable Car. The cable car boarding station is located in the Small Park of Seoraksan National Park. It takes about 10 min to get to the Gwongeumseong Fortress (700m above sea level) by the cable car. One-way ticket is not available, so visitors need to buy a round-trip ticket. Visitors can also enjoy an open view of various famous attractions such as Ulsan Peak and Manmulsang Rocks beyond glass window in the cable car. The Gwongeumseong Fortress, unfolding a panoramic view of Seoraksan Mountain’s majestic scenery, bears a legend in which two generals Gwon and Kim built the fortress in one day to prevent enemy invasion during the Goryeo period. Today, the site of the fortress only remains. Many hikers come up to the summit of the fortress despite its rough course to appreciate magnificent and mysterious scenery of strange rocks and bizarre stones at Seoraksan Mountain.
