Our first stop will be the UNESCO-listed Roman archaeological site from the IV century- Felix Romuliana. This well-preserved site was a luxury residence from periods of significant expansion and glory, about which evidence preserved architecture and beautiful mosaics. Romuliana archeological site is attractive to tourists due to its remarkable state and beauty. From a local guide you will learn more about Felix Romuliana and which interesting ritual was done for the last time in Roman Empire over here on a nearby hill Magura.
Our next stop in exploring ancient Roman heritage will be in the nearby city of Zajecar. Over there is a modern museum with an excellent exhibition and original mosaics that were found on the Felix Romuliana sight. Besides different Roman items, you can find an interesting presentation about local culture, history, and way of life which will be explained by the museum guide.
After we finish with the museum and Roman history it will be time for lunch, and we know the perfect location on our way back to Belgrade. Ethnic village Ilino has tasty local food and an authentic atmosphere with an amazing view of Rtanj mountain.
After exploring all the sights and with our stomachs full, we'll drive back to Belgrade. On the way back you'll have a chance to see stunning Rtanj Mountain. This pyramid - shape mountain attracts many hikers from all around Europe, but it is also connected with many intriguing and mysterious stories.
