Detailed itinerary

Get ready to experience a wonderful trip for a lifetime. We take off early for this 14-hour private tour to Agra from Delhi. We depart at 2:30am (Flexible Time) from your hotel or the airport. Once you arrive in Agra, witness the majestic sunrise as the sun ray fall on the shimmering waters of river Yamuna and the Taj Mahal. Be mesmerized by the beauty and take some amazing photographs. See just how stunning the majestic mausoleum looks under the beautiful rising sun before you head out with your guide on a tour. Take a break at nearby hotel where delicious breakfast is served. Later witness the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Agra Fort. Admire the red sandstone the fort as your guide shares the amazing tales of the bygone era of the Mughal Dynasty’s former imperial residence. Explore the area, and you can have lunch at a local restaurant (own expense). At about 2pm, hop back into your vehicle for drive back to Delhi. Your guide drops you off at your hotel.

Taj Mahal is located in the historical city of Agra. Called as the "symbol of love", it was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a memorial for his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Every year visitors numbering more than the entire population of Agra passes through the magnificent gates to catch a glimpse of this breath taking monument. Described by Rabindranath Tagore as “a teardrop on the cheek of eternity”, the Taj Mahal is considered as the finest example of Mughal architecture and is now a UNESCO world heritage site. Covering a land over 60 bighas, the Taj Mahal was constructed using white marble obtained from Makrana in Rajasthan.

Built by Emperor Akbar on the west bank of the river Yamuna, the Agra Fort dominates the centre of the city. The crescent-shaped fort has a 20-metre high and 2.4-km long outer wall that contains a maze of buildings that form a small city within a city. The Diwan-i-Aam (hall of public audience), the Diwan-i-Khas (hall of private audience), the octagonal tower known as Musamman Burj, Khas Mahal, Sheesh Mahal (the mirror palace) and the Anguri Bagh (the Grape Garden) are the other places to see within the fort.
