Archaeological research has proven the existence of early Caribbean Indian cultures on Hassel Island. One site has been identified on the southeastern shore, as well as the discovery of a Zemi artifact on the shoreline. This site is characteristic of the Saladoid culture which originated in the Orinoco River Basin in what is now Venezuela. These Indians began migrating northward in approximately 500BCE.

Adults (ages 18+) must operate their own ski. A valid driver's license is required to operate a ski.
Child riders are free (ages 10-17). Children less than 10 years old are not permitted.
All participants must know how to swim. Participants will be required to swim approximately 20 yards and climb aboard the ski unassisted prior to departure. This is to simulate ocean reboarding should the participant be tossed from the ski during the tour.
Operators are not allowed to participate if they are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If suspected, the staff reserves the right to cancel the tour with no refund.
A credit card deposit is required to operate.
Single operators cannot weigh more than 250 pounds. Operator and rider combined cannot weigh more than 350 pounds.

Meeting point

Please check in 15 minutes prior to departure at the Dockside Watersports Center. Follow signs from the lobby at the Westin at Frenchman's Reef. If utilizing the hotel's self-parking, please plan for an additional 20 minutes to park and pay at the hotel's front desk.
