About this experience

We will start by visiting Wong Tai Sin Temple, a vibrant Taoist temple where we will observe rituals and offerings from the community, and we will have the opportunity to make requests and consult astrologers. Then, we will enjoy the peace and exquisite design of the Nan Lian Garden, a true oasis of tranquility in the middle of the city. We will explore the Chi Lin Buddhist Convent, an architectural complex of temples and wooden pagodas without nails, surrounded by gardens. We will also learn about the history of the Walled City of Kowloon, a place that was once marked by crime, now turned into a park. In addition, we will discover the local markets, immersing ourselves in the symbolism of fish, the aromas of flowers and the charming tradition of bird walking, while learning to negotiate in the women’s market. Finally, we will take a double-decker bus to Nathan Road and arrive at Avenue of Stars, an iconic boardwalk ideal for capturing photos.

Stop 1

We will explore a vibrant Taoist temple, where we can observe the beliefs and devotion of the local community through its rituals and offerings. Immersed in legends and symbolism, we will have the opportunity to make requests and consult our future with temple astrologers.

Stop 2

We will enjoy the silence, harmony and exquisite design of a Tang Dynasty style garden, a true oasis of peace in the middle of the bustling city. We will explore its serene beauty, where each element has been carefully crafted, reflecting the rich traditional Chinese architecture.

We will visit an architectural complex of temples, pavilions and pagodas built in wood without nails, reflecting the beauty of Buddhist tradition. We will explore Buddhist philosophy in a sacred setting, surrounded by gardens, lotus ponds and stone sculptures

We'll explore a site with a history marked by mobs, drugs and crime. What was once a maze of densely populated buildings has been transformed into a park, representing resilience and renewal. After learning about its intriguing past, we will observe locals practicing tai chi and martial arts, a vibrant reflection of local culture.

Stop 5

We will discover the deep symbolism of fish in the local culture, be engulfed by the vibrant aromas and colors of flowers, and witness the charming tradition of walking birds in their cages. We will also learn negotiating skills in the lively women’s market.

Itineraries: Itineraries are customized according to the tastes and interests of customers. The visit to all the places on the suggested itinerary will depend on your walking pace and the stops you decide to make (for example, for coffee, lunch, or using toilet facilities). Your guide will help you make the most of the time.

5-hour tour: The detailed itinerary corresponds to the 8-hour tour. If you opt for the 5-hour tour, we will make a reduced version of the itinerary and will not be able to visit all the suggested places.

Transport: If you choose the public transport tour option, you will travel using the city’s excellent transport system (subway, ferry, bus, minibus, tram, etc.). If you opt for the tour by private transport, the itinerary may be affected by traffic.

Hike: It is recommended to be prepared for a moderate walk throughout the course (4-10 km), so we suggest wearing comfortable shoes. On some tour routes, it is possible to reduce the walks by taking a taxi (not included in the tour price).

Weather conditions: In the event of a Typhoon 8 signal or higher, or a red or black rain alert, the tour will be automatically cancelled and the full amount paid will be refunded. If available, the tour will be coordinated for an alternative date.
