During the tour you will see Kaunas Old Town and New Town, mostly around Liberty Boulevard. Tour lasts around 2 hours and 30 minutes. During the tour you will cover 3-4 km of distance by walking. If your group is up to 4 people you also can choose Kaunas IX Fort Museum as Bonus. During the booking process I will ask you about this Bonus option and I will explain how it would work. Bonus option is available on for up to 4 people, because we would go to IX Fort Musuem by my car.
During this tour you will learn about Kaunas Castle, Franciscan Monasteries, Town Hall, St. Peter and St. Paul Cathedral, Thunder house, the longest bridge in the world and much more. After this part we will continue to the New Town through Vilnius street.
After passing through Vilnius street, we will see church of St. Sacrament, Historical Presidential palace and then we will go through Liberty Boulevard. There we will see Choral synagogue, Musical theater, Metropolis hotel and Kaunas Sobor (former Russian Orthodox cathedral).
This option is BONUS and available only for groups up to 4 people, because I will drive group by my car (only 4 seats available). If you will choose this option, you will pay me after the tour, because it is not included in price. Kaunas IX Fort Museum is located just outside Kaunas and tells Lithuanian history from early 20th century, including the worst episode – Holocaust. Generally, we will visit huge territory, monument and fort’s building from outside. Depending on museum’s working hours and opening days and also your interest, we will be able to enter the museum. Walking in territory is free.
