If you are interested in driving up to high altitudes, then this trip is just for you. It is a whole day excursion and you will enjoy the Ayder High Plateau, various tones of green, riverside driving, old stone bridges, and an old castle.
All day long we are going to drive about 400 kms but in the end, you will feel that every kilometer was worth it.

In the morning, we'll depart from Trabzon to visit Memişağa Mansion (an old Ottoman Lord's villa) by the sea to enjoy the excellent architecture and have a glass of Turkish Tea.
Then we'll drive up the smooth mountain road alongside the Fırtına (Storm) River path. On the way we'll stop for an easy-level zipline adventure for about 15 minutes.
Following this adrenaline load, we'll head to Zil Castle, an old guarding station of the historic Silk Road. It is 100 mts above the river and 700 mts above sea level. It has a great view among the green mountains.
After Zil Castle, we'll drive up to Ayder High Plateau following a pit stop at an old stone Ottoman Bridge. In Ayder, we'll enjoy the 1350-meter altitude's fresh oxygen, nice view and pleasant walks.
On the way back, we're going to have lunch at a nice restaurant at the seaside. Then we'll go to the little town of Sürmene to visit famous knife and Turkish Tea production centers.
Our trip will end in Trabzon in the evening.
