Stone Town History Tour

Stone Town is a city of prominent historical and artistic importance in East Africa. Its architecture, mostly dating back to the 19th century, reflects the diverse influences underlying the Swahili culture, giving a unique mixture of Arab, Persian, Indian and European elements. For this reason, the town was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000.

Itinerary

The tour will start in one of the most important part the Old slave Market site (Anglican Church) then through the narrow streets, the next stop will be at City Market. Here you could see biggest market in all islands. Locals buy and sell anything here. Freshest fruits are here. Also here people have fishes action where they bid price on sea creatures.

Afterward will cover main objects of Stown Town as Palace Museum, House of wonder, which is largest and tallest building in Stown Town a.k.a. Bait -al- ajab, an Old fort, Tippu Tip and of course most famous Freddie’s Mercury’s House. Also a visit Peace memorial and Natural History Museum and many more.

Tour will end with local lunch in cozy restaurant.

The Island, named after the Prison ruin. The island is around 800m long and 230m wide at its broadest point. The British First Minister of Zanzibar, Lloyd Mathews, purchased the island in 1893 and constructed a prison complex there. No prisoners were ever housed on the island and instead it became a quarantine station for yellow fever cases.

Itinerary

Journey starts with a local private boat trip to the island. After arrival to small island you will feel like exploring. Even island is small, but there are more than 50 tortoises in it which some of them is more than 100 years old. It is possible feed, take many close up pictures with them and have a great time. The Island is also home for Peacock and tiny antelopes. You will learn more about history and of course, why there is so many turtles in the island. Learn, taste and see spices like never before

No surprise that Zanzibar's is popular of tourism. Two other main industries are spices and raffia. In particular, the islands produce cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, and black pepper. For this reason, the Zanzibar Archipelago, together with Tanzania's Mafia Island, is sometimes called the "Spice Islands". There are many spice farms in Zanzibar and you will visit one of them.

Itinerary

The trip will take you to real organic spice farm. The spice farm guide will describe how the spice is grown, used as medication and flavor in our dishes. You gonna see spices like vanilla, cardamom, nutmeg and many more. It will be possible to touch, smell and taste the spices, herbs directly from plants. This is freshest spices ever. Also, a tropical fruit we have in current Zanzibar season.

Later you will have local experience by joining cassava leaf harvesting, making coconut milk and practice the cooking. Even more, the coconut tree climber will pick up some fresh young coconut fruits to try for you. Great local experience!

Visit only one national park in Zanzibar and home of Red Colobus monkey

The Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park is a 50 km2 (19 sq mi) national park of Tanzania located on the island of Zanzibar. It is the only national park in Zanzibar. Park is famous of endangered Red Colobus monkeys. The other 54 mammals found in Zanzibar include 23 species of bats (popo in Swahili). Along with small animals, Zanzibar is known for several oversized species, such as the giant rat (Cricetomys gambianus cosensi) which can be up to a metre (3 ft) long with the tail. A revenue sharing program from park entrance fees has been used to construct schools and health clinics for local villages.

The trip to Zanzibar National Park (Jozani Forest) involves the visit to high, dense ground water forest. Home for Red Colobus Monkey rare species only found in Zanzibar. The Monkey is wild, but it’s possible to get really close to them. Other animals to be seen include Blue Sykes Monkeys, Elephant shrews and Bush babies. The trip starts at the Fishing Village (Fumba) southwest of the Island. 35 Minutes drive from Stone Town. This trip brings you close to the most fascinating and natural remarkable of the tropical Indian ocean, bay with a great deal to discover! We will leave from Fumba with a custom wooden sailing dhow.

The first stop is snorkeling at the Kwale coral reef, offering an overwhelming abundance of corals and colorful fish. Afterwards you can relax in a paradise – like sandbank with a snack and tropical fruits beside. Next stop will be at Quail Island, where a beach barbecue seafood buffet is served consisting of Octopus, Lobster, Grilled fishes, Calamari, Soft drinks, Tropical fruits.
