About this experience

Set out to a fascinating journey to Timgad or Thamugadi known by its original name, founded in 100 AD by Trajan to the veterans of Rome, back in time to see and explore one of the enormous Roman ruins known as the Pompeii of Africa and were once buried under the sand.
One hour and a half from Constantine, roughly 130 Km by car you will get to the vast ruins of Timgad is known for its huge size, about 50 hectares, symmetrical grid plan and two main oriented streets, large forum, baths, library and imposing Capitol with an incredible state of preservation.

In this Timgad tour ,you’ll walk through the eerily abandoned streets of the ancient city and see one of the most spectacular structures in Roman Africa and with the help of our guides they will be able to bring the ruins dramatically to life and you’ll gain a unique insight into domestic life in antiquity.
