You’ll hear fascinating stories of the violent battles which were staged there, and why and how it was built.
Next you will take the short walk to the Arch of Constantine and the Forum.
The Forum was the main square of the ancient city, and the focal point of life in ancient Rome. Here you’ll see the ruins of the Temple of Julius Caesar, built on the site of his cremation, the Arch of Titus, House of the Vestal Virgins, the Senate House, the Basilica of Maxentius and much more. These ruins indicate the importance of the Forum, as a centre of religion, politics and commerce.

Built in 1885 in honour of King Victor Emmanuel II, this impressive neoclassical building towers over the surrounding area, and is called the “Wedding Cake” by the locals – it’s not hard to see why. Located nearby is the Quirinal Palace, official residence of the current Italian President.
You will also visit the incredible Trevi Fountain
