Khao Lak is a series of villages, now tourist-oriented, mainly in the Takuapa District of Phang Nga Province, Thailand. The name of "Khao Lak" literally means "Lak mountain". Lak mountain is one of the main peaks in the hilly small mountainous region. The mountain is the centerpiece of Khao Lak Lam Ru National Park. Khao Lak is located just an hour’s drive north of Phuket on the gorgeous Andaman seaboard, is one of Thailand's most peaceful resort destinations.
