Maras y Moray, es una experiencia para conocer dos lugares: el grupo arqueológico de Moray, lleno de hoyos naturales gigantes, sobre los cuales, los incas construyeron andenerias, terrazas y canales de irrigación. Y la Salineras de Maras, un complejo de minas de sal cuya explotación se realiza desde el período inca.

Iniciamos con Maras ubicado en la provincia de Urubamba a 3300 m.s.n.m., desde allí se podrá aprecia la cordillera del Vilcanota y las cumbres nevadas: “El Chikón” (5530 m.s.n.m), “La Verónica” (5682 m.s.n.m.), Maras Moray.
A unos 7 Km. al suroeste de Maras y 53 km de Cusco se halla Moray con una altitud de 3,385 m.s.n.m.; es un grupo arqueológico único en su género en la región. Se trata de hoyos naturales gigantescos que fueron utilizados por los incas quienes construyeron terrazas o andenes agrícolas con sus respectivos canales de irrigación, es pues un prototipo de invernadero, el hoyo mayor tiene profundidad de 150 mts y promedio de altura andenes es de 1.80 metros., entre cada uno de ellos.
Para finalizar nuestro recorrido visitaremos las Salineras o “Minas de Sal”, ubicadas al noroeste del pueblo de Maras están constituidas por unos 2000 pozos pequeños, las cuales ya eran explotadas desde el incanato como medio de intercambio económico y sigue aun siendo explotadas por los lugareños.
