The Salar de Atacama is the largest salt deposit in Chile whose surface, white and rough, hides a large brackish lake from the naked eye. Its size is 300,000 square kilometers and can be fully appreciated thanks to the fact that the air is completely dry. However, this great visibility distorts the appreciation of distances.
