About this experience

First stop on tour will be a short walk on the edge of Perućica forest. Perućica is one of the last primeval forests in Europe, at the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage. We will walk to a viewpoint overlooking the forest and admire the views on Skakavac waterfall as well as the rocky peaks of Maglić, Volujak and Zelengora high above.

The hike itself follows the Postmans' route. This is the easiest trail that takes 34h to reach the peak, but it is not for those afraid of the heights. You need to be strong on your feet, and able to walk on hard terrain for prolonged period of time.

The first part is very easy, slowly ascending through the forest on the trail that was used by partisans during the WWII to avoid the Nazi troops. Once we leave the forest, the mighty northern face of Maglić appears. We will enjoy the view while we walk on easy trail to the foot of the mountain.

Stunning views on mountains in central Bosnia and Montenegro will make all our effort worthwhile.
