Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

The Tres Ojos caves are located in the Mirador del Este park, in Santo Domingo Este. It is a cave made up of a large freshwater lake that was divided thousands of years ago as a result of a natural phenomenon, giving rise to four beautiful and characteristic caves, connected to each other.
The name derives from the eye shape that can be seen in the three interior lakes, while there is only one lake that can be seen from the outside.

2
Stop 2

First European city in the new world, founded by Bartholomew Columbus in 1496, it was built almost entirely in the 16th century

3

Located in front of the Alcázar de Colón, this monumental square, also known as Plaza de la Hispanidad, is characterized by housing the statue of the city's founder, Nicolás de Ovando, on the western side of the river. Also, in front of the historic royal houses you can see the sundial dated 1753.

4
Stop 4

Las Damas Street was the first street in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic and America.

Located in the Colonial City, it owes its name to the fact that at the beginning of the colony the ladies walked down that street, which is currently decorated with colonial tiles. This street has as attractions Ozama Fortress, La Real Audiencia, the house of Don Rodrigo de Bastidas (today the "Trampolín" children's museum), colonial houses (some with colonial coats of arms) and at the end Plaza España.

Distinguished families from the colony built their houses on this street, including the Oviedo, Dávila, Heredia, Campuzano Polanco, Infante and Coca families.
