After checking in at the starting point, you will head towards Etna. You will walk along paths not ruined by mass tourism and you will appreciate the local flora and fauna. The tour will highlight different aspects of the volcano, such as its nature and resources, its sensational landscapes and its impressive lava flows that have destroyed roads and buildings. The first stop will be Milo, a small town in the Etna park, from which you can admire the Ionian coast with Taormina and the summit part of the volcano. On the north-east side of the Etna volcano you will visit the Sartorius Mountains, formed by seven dormant craters dating back to the 1865 eruption. After a short stop at a typical Etna refuge, equipped with helmet and torch you will visit the "Grotta dei Ladroni", a small lava flow tunnel opening into a prehistoric flow. The tour will end in Zafferana Etnea with a tasting of local specialties including honey, wine and liqueurs.
Enjoy a 4.5 hour guided tour on the north side of Etna. Explore ancient basalt lava flows, volcanic caves and secluded woodlands in a half-day in a 4x4 Jeep.
Departure for this option will be at 8.45am (time may vary slightly due to traffic)
