We designed this tour as an introduction to dog mushing for those who want to experience the activity beyond just riding in the sled. If you want to experience the rush of running your own dog team, this is your chance.
You will meet the sled dogs in our kennel and get plenty of time to get familiar with your team. Your experienced dog mushing guide will present to you the basics of dog mushing, teach you how to put on a harness, and line up the sled dogs in preparation for take off.
Each participant has a full 30 minutes of practicing on the sled runners, learning how to lean into the turns, breaking, and leading your dog team by voice command only. A second 30 minutes you are spending in the sled watching/studying your partner practicing.
You will get great insight into the art of dog mushing and have plenty of time to take pictures of this great experience.
