The Rock. British overseas territory located on a small peninsula on the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula, bordering only Spain. It is historically recognized as the southernmost point of Europe and is also strategically located at the western end of the Mediterranean, forming one of the ancient columns of Hercules. The rock is mainly Jurassic limestone about 200 million years old. Once our coach reaches the Rock, we shall visit the Apes den, the Saint Michael Caves and some time at leisure for tax free shopping in Main Street or search for some hidden gems such as the Gibraltar Museum or the narrow streets and old buildings of the old town.
