pick up from your Nairobi hotel or residence 6:00AM and drive to southeast to NARUMORU town ,4 hrs drive with at least one stop on the way for washroom break ,we drive toward to NARUMORU gate 18km from NARUMORU town sign in at NARUMORU gate 2400m and driver further to met station 3095 m and start our hike 3 hrs hike up to 3800m.
A rare afro-Alpine moorland, dense bamboo groves, and luxurious vegetation. wild animals , birds and reptiles, rosewood and heather zones, home to hundreds of buffaloes, elephants, bushbucks and a plethora of bird species.
The most popular of all the routes that lead up to Mount Kenya. Fastest way up Mt Kenya and ascends the mountain from west. The route is particularly scenic but has some of the best views of Batian 5199 m and Nelion 5099m up the mountain. After hike descent down to meet station and connect transfer back, arriving Nairobi around 5 to 6 pm. lunch is packed. This includes park fee, transport ,guide and lunch. 7:00am: Pick up from your Nairobi hotel/ residence and drive to Nanyuki town the capital of Laikipia County. Presently Nanyuki is a base for the Kenya Air Force and a training area for the British Army.
Nanyuki continues to be an important town for Mount Kenya climbers, supply centre for farms, close to ranches, game parks conservancies in the region.
From Nanyuki Town, we drive toward the Mount Kenya to the Sirimon gate.
10:30am: On completion of park entry formalities at the Sirimon Gate, you begin a 3½ hrs hike through forest, bamboo, rosewood and heather zones to Old Moses camp
We gain 740m on the ascent and begin to truly acclimatize. The forest are home to hundreds of animals and bird species.
13:30pm: We hike a little higher to see 2 Mt Kenya peaks – Nelion and Batian next to each other.
14:00pm: After pictures descend to Old Moses camp picnic lunch
15:00pm: After lunch we descend down to Sirimon gate where you get your driver and back to Nairobi
19:00pm: Arrive to Nairobi.
