Enjoy wonderful views of the city of Nairobi and the Great Rift Valley while hiking the Ngong hills on our Nairobi day Tour. An hour and a half drive from the city center, situated in the Ngong Hills Forest Reserves. These lush green hills. the hills are home to a wide variety of wildlife, birdwatching, picnicking and hiking. Pack appropriately to shield yourself from the area’s strong winds.
The highest hill has an elevation of 2,460m (8,072ft) and gives picturesque views of the Ngong area, the city, and the Great Rift Valley. This majestic mountain range spans the western end of Nairobi. It is famous in many historical works, including Karen Blixen’s film “Out of Africa”.

Detailed itinerary

Pick up at 7.45 A.M and drive to the base of the Ngong Hills.
Arrive at 9.00 a.m. enjoy hiking all the peaks that form a series along the mountain and our guides will help you learn about the history of the place.
Hike up Ngong Hills starting at the northern foot and traverses the whole range to the southern end. Takes about 4 to 5 hours. Gradual ascent through human settlements until to a barrier indicating the start of the Ngong Hills forest reserve. Go past a wind farm, before climbing the first steep hill leading to an area populated with Radio repeater station masts.

The trail thins out and descends into a trough before emerging on to the next steep hill, trolling hills seem to keep popping up. views are magnificent. On a lucky day, you are likely to encounter buffalo around the fourth hill, on the abundant bushes at higher altitudes. To your right is a fantastic view of Great Rift Valley, while on the far left is a view of the City of Nairobi.1.00p.m end of tour and depart.
