One such place is the Arènes de Lutèce, an arena that used to hold 15,000 people and which was also used as an amphitheatre in order to host gladiatorial combat. This is one of the city's most significant ancient Roman sites, and a visit to the Latin Quarter really isn't complete without seeing it.

The tour then proceeds onto the Saint-Etienne du Mont Church. This church presents an unusual style of architecture which dates back to a transitional period between flamboyant Gothic and Renaissance. Among the important things to see inside is the shrine dedicated to Saint Genevieve, the Patron Saint of Paris.
