Meet your private guide at the Trento e Trieste square and start the walking half-day tour of Tarquinia and the Necropolis.

The Monterozzi Necropolis is an ancient cemetery with approximately 6 000 tombs. Among those, 200 are decorated with precious colourful frescoes, which depicted the magical-religious scenes, landscapes, exotic animals and daily live of Etruscans. With your guide, you will visit the most impressive graves, including the tomb of the Lionesses, of the Warrior, of Hunting and Fishing, of Cardarelli's, of the Lotus, of the Gorgoneion, of the Jugglers, of the Leopards, of the Feasts, of the Flowers, of Maenads, of Bartoccini's, of the Ogre and the Shields and more.

After visiting the Necropolis your guide will take you to the historic centre of Tarquinia. Walking through the medieval streets and fascinating palaces you will reach another point of your tour - National Archaeological Museum, housed in the gorgeous renaissance Palazzo Vitelleschi. There, you will see the important collections of artifacts from the 9th century BC to the Roman period which includes Etruscan sarcophagus, precious frescoes, objects of everyday life, jewels made of gold and gemstones and other treasures of ancient Tarquinia.
