Option 1: tour at 8:30 am
You will meet with your guide outside the Colosseum and with privileged access you go directly inside to explore Ancient Rome’s largest amphitheatre.
Outside again you go to see The Arch of Constantine and take a short walk to the Roman Forum, once the centre of Rome’s political, religious and social life; the ancient ruins bear testament to its prestigious past.
A walk up the Scared Way brings you to Capitoline Hill and one of modern-day Rome’s famous landmarks, Il Vittoriano.
Your guide will then take you to see the wonderful Trevi Fountain, remembered by most for the famous scene in Fellini’s La Dolce Vita. Don’t forget to throw a coin in the fountain and make a wish that some day you will return to Rome!
You then visit the Government District with its imposing buildings; the Parliament Building, the Palace of the Council of Ministers and the Column of Marcus Aurelius. Nearby is the Temple of Hadrian, built by the Emperor Antonius Pius to honour his predecessor.
Through the narrow alleyways of Rome you come to the Pantheon where you can see the final resting place of the famous architect and painter, Raphael.
Passing the Ancient Baths of Nero the tour arrives at Piazza Navona where you can see Bernini’s magnificent Fountain of the Four Rivers. The tour finishes with an original Gelato. What better way to end a wonderful 4-hour tour of the Eternal City!
At newsagent in front of the Colosseum metro station exit - ground level (there is only one exit, just in front of the monument). Your tour guide will be holding a sign with your name.
